Creative Curriculum at Wee Friends

The most important goal of Wee Friends The Creative Curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners. This means encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts. Our goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. Play provides the foundations for “school” learning. It is the preparation children need before they learn highly abstract symbols such as letters and numbers. Play enables us to achieve the key goals of our early childhood curriculum. Play is the work of young children.

Quiet Time All children over 12 months are required to take a rest during the early part of the afternoon.  Some children will sleep, while for others this is simply a quiet time.  Rest is important so children may refresh themselves and regain energy. Birthdays & Special Occasions In accordance with the National Accreditation guidelines and with the rise in childhood allergies, we ask families to refrain from bringing in birthday treats.  Instead, you may donate a book (perhaps your child’s favorite), puzzle or toy as a gift to Wee Friends or provide a small treat to be taken home for parent approval.
