At Wee Friends…

Children are allowed and encouraged to be children.  They are allowed to continue to be an individual, make mistakes, and make choices so they learn the consequences of their actions.  Each child is well loved and encouraged to participate in all activities that are going on, however, they are never forced into doing an activity.

Diversity

Wee Friends enrolls children from a variety of backgrounds and life styles and with varying abilities.  We view this as a positive learning experience for our children and families.  Families are portrayed with single parents, grandparents as parents and step parents, as well as traditional mothers and fathers; and ethnic and cultural dolls, food, clothing, puzzles, music etc. are included into the daily curriculum.  All children need to feel good about who they are and we strive to support the development of each child as an individual with unique characteristics and abilities.

Attendance

Wee Friends is open from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, (parents please call for availability during the 6:30 am to 7:30 am hour) Monday through Thursday, Friday until 10:00 pm (when available).  The policy for care during the holidays is as follows:  Wee Friends closed on January 1, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & the day after, December 24, 25 & 31, plus one staff training day per year.  These holidays and Staff Day have already been factored into our rates.  In order for our staff to enjoy paid holidays no tuition payments will be reduced for those weeks containing a holiday or Staff Day.

Fees and Payments

Download our 2017 Tuition Rates. Payments on weekly/biweekly plan are due in advance on Friday mornings either weekly or biweekly.  This is a guaranteed rate and includes full pay for legal holidays and absent or partial days, plus one staff training day per year.  Because our program and licensing requirements force us to engage staff based on the number of children enrolled, WE CANNOT GIVE TUITION REFUNDS FOR DAYS YOUR CHILD IS ABSENT.

At the time of enrollment the first & last week’s tuition are due.  The tuition deposit will be applied to your child’s last week with Wee Friends provided the parent gives a WRITTEN two week notice for intent of withdraw.  If no notice is given, the parent must still pay for the last week of the child’s attendance at Wee Friends.  This deposit will be used to cover the period of time it takes to fill the empty Child Care slot.  Families with over-due accounts may be withdrawn from the program or asked to pay in advance.  All fees are non-refundable.

“Subsidized” Child Care Payments from Department of Human Services

At the time of registration the last week of tuition is due.  The tuition deposit will be applied to your child’s last week with Wee Friends provided the parent gives a WRITTEN two week notice.  If no notice is given, the parent must still pay for the last week of the child’s attendance at Wee Friends.  The tuition deposit will then be used to cover the period of time it takes to fill the empty slot.  All forms for DHS payments must be filled out and agreed approved by the Department of Human Services before child care can begin.  Parents are responsible to pay full tuition fees on a weekly basis, with or without DHS payments.  If DHS payments do not cover 100% of the tuition, the parent is responsible for the remainder of the tuition each week.

Field Trip Fees

Wee Friends provides a more hands-on experience by offering children an opportunity to socialize with each other outside of school.  Therefore, small fees may be required for our occasional field trips.

Fundraisers

Fundraisers are an important part of our yearly financial budget.  Therefore, Wee Friends might hold one or more fundraisers each year.  On an on-going basis, Wee Friends sells treats at the Welcome Station.
